SPECIAL  THOUGHTS
VISIT  ALSO  THESE  SECTIONS

People and nations may be blessed by showing honor to God (1 Sam. 2: 30);  and such shall be judged one day on how they regarded Him (Matt. 25: 31-34);  however, blessings and mercies should not be viewed as salvation of the soul, and the Gospels must be regarded.   Let us "earnestly contend for the faith"  (Jude 3)

CCC Subjects
By Robert L. DeWitt - Update 11/11

INTRODUCTION
Due to volume this CCC listing is limited to subjects rather than individual papers, so readers can choose a subject that is of some interest to them. Various papers and discussion on a subject can be sent, and of course correspondence about clarification and additional subjects is always welcome.

In requesting a subject here, please also state the category where it is listed (e.g. R-Gospel, etc.), or state your particular interest, or request any other subjects of interest. Please note that the writer makes no claim to know all things about God's Word and His mind, but is happy to share what he has been given through the years and can appreciate. –RLD

SUMMARY: It seems so very important to maintain a balance in these things. Believers often become so occupied with one area that the others are neglected. It not only is personal loss, but harms the universal testimony. The monthly editions at the Bible Counsel web site show most of the CCC available papers on various subjects over time (see www.biblecounsel.homestead.com). One can always request commentary on Christianity or other biblical subject. -RLD

CASUAL BIBLE READERS
Dear friend:
Yes, it is a common stumbling block for casual readers of the Bible to start at Genesis and then do not understand and quit, and that is why I often caution serious seekers to begin with the NEW TESTAMENT, which is given for this present age; and also for a brief overview and meditation and prayer, to read John 1; John 3; and John 14 (the first place I ever read in the Bible many years ago). There we see fundamental redemption truth explained. Then one should read all the four Gospel books ---Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, which show Jesus, the Christ of the triune God, in many of His wondrous ways and various aspects as OUR ONLY ETERNAL HOPE. We need to make Him lord of our life and best friend, and take time to thank God for sending His "...beloved Son". Without possessing the Lord Jesus in our heart we all will have no part in our Creator-God! I enjoy walking and talking with Him daily, as He is ever present by the Holy Spirit of God.

It is important also to try to memorize the location of the sixty-six Bible books to help in knowing how to find sources in a search for a reference given by someone. A DAILY READING of all the New Testament is the full way to know of our Creator God ---and especially also note the Epistle (letter) to Romans to see our wretched condition from birth and need of God (note Romans 8). We can then understand how the Godhead came down to man in the Person of Christ ---"Son of man" and "Son of God", and hopefully see our urgent and eternal need of the Savior in order to ever be accepted by our Creator-God (read 1 Jn.5:10-12).

Once a week one might then also begin a reading in the Old Testament to understand our Creator-God, creation, history, God's dealings with His covenant people of Israel (which also shows us more of what kind of God we are privileged to have). The promise to Israel as a chosen people of olden times for eternal blessing is manifest in a future time on the "new earth" (Isa. 65:17 & Rev. 21:1), being the government over the whole of mankind in this world under God. They have that heritage as a nation, but today the Israelite individuals need to come on the same ground as Gentiles to be part of the "bride" of Christ for Heaven.

Israel needed to know and still do, that every individual needs to be redeemed by obedience and faithfulness, and bow to God and believe His Word; and believe their prophets about the Messiah ---which they failed to do when He came to earth (and still do). Today they, and all serious seekers, need to appreciate that the Israelite religion is mostly a typology of the real sacrifice, hope and blessing, which is found in their Messiah ---our Lord Jesus, the Christ of God (Savior and anointed One). The Church is NOT an extension of the Israelite religion, but a fulfillment of their hope, and including the Gentiles which makes us one in Christ (Gal. 3:28).

The Bible is a joy to read when one is a sincere seeker after God, and learns to be "rightly dividing the Word of Truth" as God enjoins us. Look up always! - R. L. DeWitt: Gd-B; 03/18
